Accounts for claims and disbursements

All accounts and vouchers for claims and disbursements connected with Indian affairs shall be transmitted to the Commissioner for administrative examination, and by him passed to the Government Accountability Office for settlement.

Transfer of Functions

section 8(b) of Pub. L. 108–271section 702 of Title 31“Government Accountability Office” substituted in text for “General Accounting Office” pursuant to , set out as a note under , Money and Finance, which redesignated the General Accounting Office and any references thereto as the Government Accountability Office. Previously, “General Accounting Office” substituted in text for “proper accounting officer of the Department of the Treasury” pursuant to act , which transferred all powers and duties of the Comptroller, six auditors, and certain other employees of the Treasury to the General Accounting Office.
