Congressional notification of intelligence collection adjustments

(a)

Notification

Not later than 30 days after the date on which the Director of the National Security Agency determines that a covered intelligence collection or sharing adjustment has occurred, the Director shall submit to the congressional intelligence committees, the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate, and the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives a summary of such adjustment and the cause of such adjustment.

(b)

Definitions

In this section:
(1)

Congressional intelligence committees

section 3003 of this titleThe term “congressional intelligence committees” has the meaning given that term in .

(2)

Covered intelligence collection or sharing adjustment

The term “covered intelligence collection or sharing adjustment” means an action or inaction by the National Security Agency that results in a significant change to—
(A)
the quantity of intelligence collected by the National Security Agency with respect to a foreign country, foreign organization, or senior leader of a foreign country or foreign organization; or
(B)
policies or practices of the National Security Agency with respect to the sharing of intelligence with a foreign country, organization of foreign countries, or organization of countries of which the United States is a member.
